The FNRE Board of Directors currently guides the Foundation toward its philanthropic mission to solicit and disperse funds for neonatal research and education to promote the development of expertise in the neonatal profession and raise the awareness of the general public as the consumers of neonatal services. The objectives assigned to accomplish this mission include:

  • Strengthening of Neonatal Nursing Practice through Research
  • Evaluation of Neonatal Nursing Interventions and Patient Outcomes
  • Preparing Neonatal Nurses for the Future

Funding Programs

Various fund-raising activities are held throughout the year in conjunction with other organizations to fund education and research opportunities offered by FNRE. The nonprofit Foundation welcomes individual and family donations as well as corporate contributions, designated funds, endowments, and memorial funds. Contributions to FNRE are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and more importantly, promote evidenced-based clinical practice in neonatal nursing. Individual donations remain our greatest source of support. To make a contribution to the Foundation, please see the donation form.

The Academy of Neonatal Nursing (ANN) supports the Foundation through a generous donation of one dollar for every membership.

The FNRE Auction and Raffle at the National Neonatal Nurses Meeting (NNNM) has been a traditional fund raising activity enjoyed by the participants and the donors alike.

Corporate friends and business partners of the Foundation have supported the Foundation through matching fund programs. Anthony J. Jannetti, Inc. sponsors the Matthew J. Hester Memorial Scholarship annually. Other corporations have sponsored activities to generate donations such as the Hill Rom Air-Shields Fun Run Walk and still others have provided lump sum donations in the past. New corporate programs, sponsorships, and designated fund grants or scholarships are welcome.
